Everything About Brand Consulting
Whether for a newly founded business or the repositioning of an established brand, identity isn't decoration added afterward — it's the foundation all communication is built on. A properly built brand identity tells the same consistent story at every touchpoint: your website, your social media profile, your product packaging, and your ad creative. Below, we've compiled every stage of our brand consulting process along with frequently asked questions.
What Is Strategic Brand Architecture?
Brand architecture is the invisible skeleton that defines who your brand is, what it promises, and how it stands apart from competitors. Before we touch logo design, we dig deep into your target audience, competitor positioning in your industry, and your brand's real value proposition. This analysis ensures every design decision that follows is a strategic choice, not a random aesthetic preference.
Many businesses skip this step and jump straight to a logo; but a logo without solid strategy underneath it eventually becomes a meaningless graphic element. Our brand architecture work produces outputs like brand personality, tone of voice, values, and a positioning map — a solid foundation that every subsequent visual decision is built on.
- Target audience and competitor positioning analysis
- Brand personality and tone-of-voice definition
- Clarifying your value proposition
- A strategy document that guides every design decision that follows
Did you know?
Businesses with a consistent brand identity earn a far stronger, more memorable position in the market. Identity inconsistency is a quiet risk that erodes customer trust, especially for newly founded brands.
Original Emblem and Logotype System
Your logo is the smallest yet most frequently encountered touchpoint your brand has — repeated across thousands of contexts: your website, packaging, social media profile, even your invoices. That's why we build the emblem and logotype system around a symbol language unique to your brand's story, far from off-the-shelf templates.
The process starts with dozens of thumbnail sketches; the strongest 3-4 directions move to digital and get tested across different backgrounds, scales, and color variations. Our goal isn't just something pleasant to look at — it's a durable mark that stays legible even shrunk down to favicon size.
- A discovery process that starts with dozens of rough sketches
- Final candidate emblems tested at different scales and backgrounds
- Custom letterform adjustments for the logotype (brand name typography)
- An optimized file set for favicon, social profile, and print use
Brand Vision Building: Positioning, Tone of Voice, and Values
A logo alone isn't a brand; a brand exists when the vision behind that logo comes to life consistently across every communication channel. In our brand vision building work, we clarify why your brand exists, what values it represents, and what tone of voice it uses to speak to its customers.
This clarity ensures every piece of content you produce afterward — from a social media post to a product description — speaks in the same brand voice. Even as your team grows or you work with different agencies, a written brand guideline keeps that consistency intact.
Brand Guideline
We bring your color palette, typography, logo usage rules, and tone of voice together in a single document.
Positioning Map
We clarify exactly where your brand sits relative to your competitors.
Long-Term Consistency
Your brand keeps speaking with the same voice across every channel, even as your team grows.
Concept Product Photography
For brands with a physical product, visual language is as critical an identity element as the logo itself. In our concept product photography service, we design the lighting, composition, and background choices around your product to align perfectly with your brand identity.
Our goal isn't generic frames that feel like stock photography — it's imagery that sets your product apart from competitors and tells your brand's story in a single frame. These visuals become a reusable asset across your website, product catalog, social media posts, and ad creative.
- Lighting and composition built specifically for your brand identity
- Macro shots that highlight your product's standout details
- Multi-format delivery for web, social media, and advertising
- A consistent series-shoot approach that builds a coherent visual language
From Brand Identity to Digital Storefront: Social Media Application
No matter how strong it is on paper, a brand identity only earns its value once it's applied at real touchpoints. That's why we complete our brand consulting process by turning the identity we've built into social media posts, story templates, and digital storefront materials.
This step ensures your brand looks consistent from the moment it first goes live; a new product post or an announcement can be produced quickly, staying true to the same brand language, without needing to be redesigned by hand every time.
- Conversion-focused carousel post templates
- A story template set aligned with your brand language
- A consistent storefront layout for your social media profile
- Seamless continuity with our Social Media Management service when needed
The Return on Investing in Brand Identity Early
One of the most common mistakes newly founded businesses make is putting off brand identity with a "we'll deal with it later" mindset. But a brand that starts with an inconsistent visual identity pays a far higher cost for rebranding down the road — because by then, what needs to change isn't just a logo, it's an entrenched perception in customers' minds.
A brand identity built correctly from the start accelerates trust-building, increases the return on your marketing investments (advertising, social media, your website), and gives your brand a solid foundation to grow on.
The Process Step by Step
The most common mistake in brand work is starting with the logo. A logo is a summary of the brand, so it comes last; a logo drawn at the start doesn't know what it's summarising.
The process starts with positioning: who are you selling to, what concretely separates you from competitors, which promise can you actually keep. Moving to design before answering those leads to endless "I don't like it" rounds — because there's no criterion against which to judge.
Once positioning is settled, tone of voice follows, then visual identity (logo, colour, typography), and applications last: business cards, social media templates, signage, packaging. Approval is taken at each step, and the next step rests on an approved decision.
1. Positioning
Target audience, competitor map, point of difference and a promise you can keep. Output: a written positioning decision.
2. Tone of voice
How the brand speaks: example sentences, phrases used and phrases avoided.
3. Visual identity
Mark/logotype, colour palette, typography. Built on the positioning, not designed in a vacuum.
4. Applications
Business cards, social templates, signage, packaging, presentation template — as needed.
Which Files Do You Actually Receive?
The deliverable of brand work isn't an image, it's a file set. The most common problem here is a logo delivered only as a JPG: the sign maker needs vector, the printer needs CMYK, the web needs RGB.
We deliver the logo in vector (SVG and PDF) and raster (transparent PNG), with horizontal, vertical and icon variants, and in light and dark background versions. Colours are provided in RGB (screen), CMYK (print) and, where possible, a Pantone equivalent.
Alongside comes a short usage guide: the clear space around the logo, the minimum size, which version to use on which background, and what not to do. That guide is what protects the brand when you commission work from others.
- Logo: vector (SVG, PDF) + raster (transparent PNG), horizontal/vertical/icon variants
- Light and dark background versions
- Colours: RGB, CMYK and a Pantone equivalent where possible
- Typography: the typefaces used and their licence status
- Usage guide: clear space, minimum size, what not to do
Just a Logo, or a Full Identity?
They're different jobs at different prices. Which suits you has less to do with budget than with the stage you're at.
For a newly founded business still testing who it sells to, a logo plus a basic colour and typography set can make sense. If positioning is going to clarify over time, documenting something that isn't settled yet is wasted work.
For a business with an established customer base, visible across several channels (website, social media, print, packaging, signage) and complaining about inconsistency, a full identity is needed. The real gain there isn't the logo, it's the guide: every new piece of material stops being an argument from scratch.
If you're unsure, say so; we'll look at where you are and tell you which is enough. Selling an identity more extensive than needed doesn't serve us either, because a guide nobody uses helps no one.
- Logo + basic set: new businesses still testing their positioning
- Full identity: businesses visible across channels and struggling with inconsistency
- In a full identity the real gain is the guide — materials stop being argued from scratch
- We'll look at where you are and tell you which is enough
How Revisions and Approvals Work
Revisions spiral in design work usually because there's no criterion: if the only basis is "I like it / I don't", the rounds never end.
So we produce a written decision at each step. Once positioning is approved, later design decisions are judged against it: "is this logo right for the target audience?" is a different and answerable question from "do I like this logo?"
How many revision rounds are included is written in the proposal document. A change to the positioning itself (a different audience, a different promise) isn't a revision but new scope; we keep that transparent upfront, because at that point the whole design has to be rethought.
- A written decision at each step — the next step rests on it
- The number of revision rounds is written in the proposal
- Changing the positioning is new scope, not a revision
- Approvals are taken step by step, not saved for the end
Frequently Asked Questions
Depending on scope, a core brand identity process covering strategy and logo design is typically completed within 3-5 weeks. Comprehensive projects that add product photography and social media application templates can take longer.
